45 Mr. M. Kitt asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if a minimum livestock requirement is needed for an applicant to be deemed eligible to participate in the rural environment protection scheme. [1801/96]

There is no minimum livestock requirement for an applicant to be eligible to participate in the rural environment protection scheme. Applicants must farm at least three hectares and agree to abide by the conditions of the scheme.
