Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Éamon Ó Cuív — an gá atá ann go gcuirfear ar ceal na leasuithe a rinneadh ar na coinníollacha a bhaineann le Scéim Feabhsúcháin Thithe agus Scéim na mBóithre Áise na Roinne Ealaíon, Cultúir agus Gaeltachta; (2) Deputy F. Fitzgerald — the findings of a recent television programme (details supplied) on the ill-treatment of children in orphanages in China; (3) Deputy Shortall — the need for a public awareness campaign on the dangers of ecstasy; (4) Deputy Callely — the question of introducing birching, flogging or other forms of corporal punishment for those convicted of certain offences; (5) Deputy Eric Byrne — the need to introduce statutory guidelines on solicitors' advertising in the event that guidelines promised by the Law Society are not published and implemented by the end of March 1996; (6) Deputy Martin — the need to intervene in the industrial dispute at a retail concern (details supplied) in Cork and to ensure the full utilisation of existing industrial machinery for the resolution of the dispute; (7) Deputy Leonard — the provision of funding for fishery and lake development in the Cavan-Monaghan constituency.

The matters raised by Deputies Frances Fitzgerald, Ó Cuív, Martin and Leonard have been selected for discussion.
