Vol. 460 No. 8

Written Answers. - Defence Forces Personnel.

Mary Harney

Question:

20 Miss Harney asked the Minister for Defence the number of army personnel currently serving overseas; the positions the officers hold; and the particular areas where they are serving. [2154/96]

Desmond J. O'Malley

Question:

21 Mr. O'Malley asked the Minister for Defence if he has satisfied himself with the current seven day FCA summer army camp training and the plans, if any, he has to revert back to a 14 day training camp and to increase the numbers called up to participate in these camps. [2150/96]

Since 1983 it has been found necessary, as part of the Government's programme for achieving reductions in the level of public expenditure to curtail annual training for members of the Reserve having regard to the provisions in the Defence Vote for the training of the Reserve.
