A possible site for the proposed new station has been identified and I understand that the Office of Public Works is pursuing its acquisition.

Question:89 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Justice the progress, if any, being made towards the provision of a new Garda barracks at Castlecomer in County Kilkenny; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [2799/96]
A site has been purchased and the Office of Public Works are preparing a sketch scheme for the new station. It is not possible to say at this stage when work will commence. However, the Deputy can be assured that there will be no avoidable delay.
