Vol. 461 No. 4

Written Answers. - National Lottery Grants.

Joe Walsh

Question:

177 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for Social Welfare the total amount paid out in national lottery grants by his Department in respect of each county or constituency in the country; and the specific project funded for each grant allocation. [2878/96]

The Department operates a number of grant schemes for voluntary and community groups. In 1995, the scheme of grants to voluntary organisations, the scheme of grants for locally-based women's groups, and the scheme of grants for locally-based men's groups were funded by the Exchequer. The scheme of grants for lone parents and my Department's community development programme were funded from moneys made available from the national lottery.

Details of all national lottery funded grants have been forwarded to the Deputy and details of all grants paid, both Exchequer funded and national lottery funded, under the various schemes operated by my Department in 1995, have been placed in the Oireachtas library for the information of Members.
