Seven task forces/review groups established by me are currently operating under the aegis of my Department for the following purposes:

FORTE — To examine the potential for employment in the music industry.

Coimisiún chun ról na nEagras Deonacha Gaeilge a scrúdú — Chun measúnú a dhéanamh ar obair na n-eagras deonacha Gaeilge i ndáil le feidhm a thabhairt d'aidhmeanna an Stáit agus mian an phobail maidir le leathadh na Gaeilge agus forbairt an dátheangachais de.

Cultural Development Incentives Scheme Advisory Committee — to make recommendations on applications received under the CDI Scheme.

Grand Canal Task Force — To provide the impetus for the implementation of the Grand Canal Corridor Study recommendations.

STATCOM — To address the remaining obstacles to the full development of the film and television production industry in Ireland.

Burren National Park Management Plan Steering Committee — To oversee the preparation of a Management Plan for the Burren National Park.

Wicklow National Park Management Plan Steering Committee — to oversee the preparation of a Management Plan for the Wicklow National Park.

With regard to consultancies, one firm — De Courcy Nyland — is currently engaged by my Department in relation to the Strategic Management Initiative. In addition, both of the National Park Steering Committees referred to above have engaged consultants to prepare draft management plans for the parks and strategies for the wider areas in which the parks are situated. I also understand that a number of small-scale consultancies are ongoing at present, for the National Museum in relation to Collins Barracks and to medieval pottery; for the National Archives in relation to Information Technology; and for the National Library in relation to its Prints and Drawings Collection.
