Vol. 461 No. 4

Written Answers. - Dromod (Leitrim) Sewerage Scheme.

Declan Bree

Question:

116 Mr. Bree asked the Minister for the Environment the current position regarding the proposed Dromod sewerage scheme, County Leitrim, and if his attention has been drawn to the necessity of such a scheme for Dromod, a village which was awarded his Department's County Award in 1995 for its valuable contribution to Irish tourism and for its work for a better environment; and if he will request the European Commission to make this scheme a priority in 1996. [2869/96]

This scheme is included in Stage 1 of the Lough Ree catchment protection plan for which an application has been submitted to the European Commission for Cohesion Fund assistance. My Department has emphasised the urgency of this application and continues to press for its approval.
