Vol. 461 No. 7

Written Answers. - Transition Year Training Courses.

Batt O'Keeffe

Question:

219 Mr. B. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Education if she has satisfied herself that the position of co-ordinators for the transition year courses were publicly advertised and were filled as a result of interviews. [19176/95]

I understand that the Deputy is referring to the 14 teachers who are attached as trainers/co-ordinators to the transition year support team. This team is currently delivering an in-service programme for transition year schools.

The team was selected from a group of 68 teachers who had been trained as transition year trainers and had delivered such training courses in 1993-94 and 1994-95.
