Vol. 461 No. 7

Written Answers. - FÁS Industrial Dispute.

John Ellis

Question:

270 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the action, if any, he proposes to take to settle the industrial dispute in FÁS in relation to the course on construction plant fitting. [3864/96]

Responsibility for dealing with industrial relations issues of this nature in FÁS rests with the management there and it would be inappropriate for me to intervene in the matter. I understand, however, that negotiations on a programme for change are at an advanced stage. As a result of progress in these negotiations, the union concerned has now agreed to recommend to its members to return to normal working.
