Written Answers. - Inspectorate of Prisons.
The Department's five year plan for the management of offenders which was published in June 1994 indicated that consideration would be given to the appointment of an inspector of prisons. Management structures for the prisons are currently being reviewed. The question of the appointment of an inspector will be considered in that context.
