33 Miss Quill asked the Minister for Justice the number of inspections carried out in 1995 on commercial vehicles at roadside weighbridges to check if they were in excess of the legal limits for weight per axle; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [3379/96]

I have been informed by the Garda authorities that a total of 2,765 commercial vehicles were checked for weight limits by the Garda at appointed weighbridges throughout the State in 1995.
