Written Answers. - Programme Managers' Declaration of Interests.

Question:

76 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Finance if programme managers are required to declare their interests; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3966/96]

Section 19 (3) of the Ethics in Public Office Act, 1995, provides that each holder of an excluded position within the meaning of the Civil Service Commissioners Act, 1956, such as a programme manager, shall prepare and furnish to the Minister by whom he or she was appointed and to the Public Offices Commission a statement in writing of (i) the interests of the person, and (ii) the interests of which he or she has actual knowledge of his or her spouse or a child or step-child which could materially influence the person in relation to the performance of his or her function as programme manager.
