181 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice the number of plain clothes and uniformed gardaí deployed on Saturday, 3 February 1996 at St. Joseph's Mansions, Killarney Street/Buckingham Street, Dublin 1; the number of persons taken into custody on this day to Store Street and Fitzgibbon Street, Dublin, for drug dealing and offences connected to drug dealing; and the number of persons charged as a result. I am informed by the Garda authorities that the disclosure of specific information regarding the deployment of gardaí in operational matters is not in accordance with established practice. I can say, however, that as a result of the operation in question, three persons were arrested and charged. All three are currently awaiting trial.
