Vol. 462 No. 3

Written Answers. - Transport Review Committee.

Mary Coughlan

Question:

72 Miss Coughlan asked the Minister for Education the reason parents' organisations have not been represented on the transport review committee despite a commitment to the contrary; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [4581/96]

I can assure the Deputy that all parties, including parents' organisations, are being given the opportunity as part of the consultative process, to put forward their views to the School Transport Review Committee.

In this regard, an advertisement has already been placed in the national Sunday and daily newspapers, announcing the establishment of the review committee, and inviting interested parties who wish to make submissions to forward them to the committee secretary by Friday, 8 March 1996.

Any submission from parents' organisations would be most welcome.
