Vol. 462 No. 4

Written Answers. - Grant Payment.

Austin Deasy

Question:

62 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Health if he will consider the provision of some assistance to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford who has carried out extensive works to her house. [4743/96]

Limerick East): Responsibility for the provision of grants for the renovation and-or adaptation of private homes rests with the Department of the Environment. Depending on individual circumstances, health boards may be in a position to offer assistance in the health or social services area. Accordingly, I have referred the Deputy's question to the chief executive officer, South-Eastern Health Board with a request that he investigate the matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
