Vol. 462 No. 5

Written Answers. - County Dongeal Areas of Scientific Interest.

John Ellis

Question:

127 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for the Environment the investigations, if any, being carried out by the EU into breaches of the regulations concerning the planting of lands in areas of scientific interest in County Donegal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5088/96]

Correspondence was received from the European Commission in October 1995 dealing, inter alia, with alleged tree planting in proposed natural heritage areas in County Donegal. My Department has sought from the other Departments concerned the information necessary to compile a full response which, it is hoped, will be issued to the Commission shortly.
