Vol. 462 No. 6

Written Answers. - New Garda Station.

Pat Gallagher

Question:

102 Mr. P. Gallagher (Laoighis-Offaly) asked the Minister for Justice, whether she will review the need to provide a new Garda station in Tullamore, County Offaly, in view of its inadequate facilities for the gardaí and the public and in view of her recent decision regarding new Garda stations in west Dublin; when she expects to sanction this project; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [5188/96]

There are plans for an extension and major refurbishment work at Tullamore Garda station. While it is not possible at this stage to say when work on this project will commence, it will be progressed as quickly as possible having regard to overall priorities throughout the country and the availability of finance.
