Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Lawlor — the need to address the question of the availability of post-primary school places in the Lucan area of County Dublin; (2) Deputy Michael Kitt — the provision of services for mentally handicapped children and adults in the Ballinasloe area of County Galway; (3) Deputy Seán Ryan — the number of abscondments from Oberstown House, Lusk, County Dublin over the past year and the proposals, if any, there are for improving security for the centre in view of the concerns of the local residents; (4) Deputy Hugh Byrne — the need for an air ambulance with night flying equipment on the east coast; (5) Deputy Eric Byrne — the need for the necessary resources to be made available to obviate the need for water throttling and the necessity for an adequate and reliable water supply for all areas of Dublin; (6) Deputy O'Dea — the need to remove the barriers which impede victims of child sexual abuse who wish to take civil actions for damages; (7) Deputy Shortall — the need to extend the preferential terms for the Telecom Phonewatch medi system to pensioners in urban areas; (8) Deputy Ellis — the need to upgrade and refurbish St. Joseph's national school, Killenummery, Dromahair, County Leitrim; (9) Deputy Frances Fitzgerald — the discovery of 1,500 adoption files in the National Archives; (10) Deputy Martin — the need to intervene in the ongoing dispute at the Early Learning Centre, Patrick Street, Cork, to encourage the owners of the company to participate in the talks scheduled for the Labour Relations Commission and to ensure a successful resolution of the dispute; (11) Deputy Cowen — the circumstances under which cattle exported to Libya under licence cannot be unloaded; the steps being taken in view of the welfare of the animals and the consequences for the exporter and the implications arising from the recent incident; (12) Deputy O'Donoghue — the lack of places of detention for young offenders; (13) Deputy Séamus Brennan — the Government's strategy for the future of Telecom Éireann; (14) Deputy Geoghegan-Quinn — the need to publish immediately the report of the inquiry into the Kelly Fitzgerald case and to initiate a debate on the matter in Dáil Éireann.

The matters raised by Deputies Lawlor, O'Donoghue, Cowen and Séamus Brennan have been selected for discussion.
