Vol. 463 No. 1

Written Answers. - Ministerial Invitations.

Ivor Callely

Question:

105 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the invitations, if any, to functions or briefings that have issued from his office or the office of the Minister of State(s) at his Department seeking funds for party purposes where a cover charge applied; and if so, when these invitations issued. [5888/96]

Invitations to two functions where funds were sought for party purposes were issued from my constituency office. The first was for a constituency golf outing in June 1995 where the invitation issued on my own office notepaper. The second was for a fund-raising lunch in December 1995 which issued on my Dáil notepaper. No invitations to briefings which involved the raising of funds for party purposes were issued.

Invitations were issued from the constituency office of the Minister with responsibility for labour affairs to one fund-raising lunch to be held on March 28 next. The invitations were dated 28 February and issued on 4 March this year. This function has now been cancelled.

No invitations to functions or briefings seeking funds for party purposes issued from the office of the Minister of State at my Department with responsibility for commerce, science and technology.
