Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Eric Byrne — the need for the necessary resources to be made available to obviate the need for water throttling and the necessity for an adequate and reliable water supply for all areas of Dublin; (2) Deputy Shortall — the need to extend the preferential terms for the Telecom Phonewatch Medi System to pensioners in urban areas; (3) Deputy Frances Fitzgerald — the discovery of 1,500 adoption files in the National Archives; (4) Deputy Flanagan — the need for the Government to register a formal condemnation of the Chinese military action off the coast of Taiwan; (5) Deputy Lawlor — the serious situation existing at the Carline Project in North Clondalkin, Dublin 22, in view of the referral there of large numbers of persons under 15 years of age and the need to provide adequate funding for the project; (6) Deputy Michael Kitt — the unsatisfactory funding for mentally handicapped services in the Western Health Board area; (7) Deputy Noel Treacy — the need to provide resources to the Western Health Board in order to facilitate the purchasing of urgently required public nursing service medical requisites for geriatric and other public patients; (8) Deputy de Valera — the serious accommodation problems facing teachers and pupils in Kilmurry National School, Ennis, County Clare; (9) Deputy Haughey — the need to publish the report of the Aer Lingus Enterprise Development Task Force and to implement the recommendations of the report; (10) Deputy Séamus Brennan — the up-to-date position on the Dublin light rail system in view of the recent concerns expressed; (11) Deputy O'Rourke — the contacts the Minister for Enterprise and Employment has had with the management and unions at Packard Electric in advance of tomorrow's deadline in relation to notice for the rehiring of 400 staff; (12) Deputy Ned O'Keeffe — the need to lift the public service embargo on Teagasc, and (13) Deputy Brendan Smith — the need to improve the approval rate for applications in the control of farm pollution scheme in the Cavan area.

The matters raised by Deputies Frances Fitzgerald, Noel Treacy, de Valera and O'Rourke have been selected for discussion.
