Question:

258 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Education the action, if any, she proposes to take to ensure that a child (details supplied) in County Cork is allowed to exercise his right to full time education and that he is accepted at a local school. [6383/96]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 218 and 258 together.

The child in question is not attending school at present. However my Department has sanctioned home tuition in order to meet his educational needs.

Efforts are being made to have the child enrolled in a primary school. My Department is prepared to facilitate the arrangements which are under consideration locally.
