223 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Education whether she received a further submission from a school (details supplied) in Dublin 1 for additional remedial teachers; and if so, her response to this request; and the details contained in the submission. [5984/96]

Minister for Education (Ms Bhreathnach)

I have received a further submission from the school in question seeking additional remedial teachers. The school's submission contains documentation relating to the remedial needs of children attending the school.

I am not in a position at present to make remedial teacher posts available to the school.

When I am in a position to extend the remediation service, the school in question will be given every consideration.
