Vol. 463 No. 3

Written Answers. - Ministerial Staff.

Dermot Ahern

Question:

264 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for Education if she or the Minister(s) of State at her Department have directed any of the staff employed in the departmental constituency office to work directly in the local constituency clinic; if so, if this practice is in the public interest; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [6496/96]

No civil servants have been directed to work in my constituency clinic or those of the Ministers of State at my Department.

My personal assistant, who is employed in my constituency office, attends my constituency clinic with me.
The personal secretary of Minister of State Allen, who is based in his constituency office in Cork, attends clinics in that office as part of his duties.
