Vol. 463 No. 3

Written Answers. - Illegal Parking.

Tony Gregory

Question:

291 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice if the Garda can assist with the problem of illegal parking (details supplied) in the residents only parking area at the rear of Lower Dominick Street Flats, Dublin 1, by local shopkeepers, some of whom are most aggressive towards the residents. [6250/96]

I have been informed by the Garda authorities that the area in question is a car park for the use of the residents of Lower Dominick Street Flats, and is sign posted accordingly. This parking area is owned by Dublin Corporation and, therefore, there are no parking restrictions which the Garda can enforce to prohibit the parking complained about.
