Vol. 463 No. 4

Written Answers. - Remedial Teacher Appointment.

Austin Deasy

Question:

116 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Education if she will approve the appointment of a remedial teacher on a shared basis for three schools (details supplied) in County Waterford in view of the urgent need for such a facility; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [4250/96]

I am not in a position at present to make remedial teacher posts available to the primary school sector.

When I am in a position to extend the remediation service, all schools, including the schools referred to by the Deputy, will be given every consideration.
