Question:

21 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for Social Welfare the level of remuneration of the non-executive directors of boards, companies or agencies under the aegis of his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6514/96]

The main bodies under the aegis of my Department are the Pensions Board, the Combat Poverty Agency and the National Social Services Board.

Ordinary members of the Pensions Board are paid £1,000 per annum while the chairperson is paid £2,000 per annum. The members of the Combat Poverty Agency and the National Social Services Board receive no remuneration.
