Written Answers. - Military Clothing Allocation.

Michael Bell

Question:

185 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for Defence the number of full number one uniforms and shoes or boots issued to members of the FCA and Slua Muirí in the 18 month period to the end of March 1996; the number of personnel of the FCA and Slua Muirí by command who had more than 18 months service at the end of March 1996 who were not issued with a full complement of number one uniforms, including cap badges and footwear; if he has satisfied himself with the quality of both working dress and number one uniforms issued to members of the FCA and Slua Muirí over the past 12 months; if he has further satisfied himself that the dress schedule issued in March 1996 is appropriate in that it does not provide overcoats or jackets for FCA members with less than 18 months service; whether the issue of ponchos and second-hand combat attire is appropriate for FCA members for inclement weather conditions; and if he will make a statement regarding the further issues of full number one uniforms and footwear over the period to the end of December 1996.
