Vol. 464 No. 2

Written Answers. - Pension Scheme Implementation.

Derek McDowell

Question:

64 Mr. D. McDowell asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the provisions, if any, he has made for the implementation of the agreed pension scheme intended to benefit the spouses and dependent children of former employees of the now defunct milk boards; and the reason for the inordinate delay in making such provision. [7250/96]

Arrangements are now in place to provide spouses and children's pension benefit for former members of the pension schemes established by the abolished district milk boards. While the putting in place of these arrangements took some time, there was no inordinate delay. I can assure the Deputy no dependent lost any benefit as a result of such time lapse as did occur.
