Vol. 464 No. 2

Written Answers. - Medical Treatment.

Mary O'Rourke

Question:

82 Mrs. O'Rourke asked the Minister for Health if he will have arrangements made for an urgent heart operation for a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath. [7895/96]

, Limerick East): In all cases, appointments for medical treatment are allocated on the basis of medical priority. I am advised that the person concerned has been placed on a priority waiting list, but that the hospital is not in a position, at this time, to give an exact date of admission.

If the person concerned feels that her condition has deteriorated since she was last reviewed or warrants more urgent attention then she should contact her general practitioner who would be in the best position to take up the matter with the consultant concerned.
