Vol. 464 No. 2

Written Answers. - County Mayo School.

Séamus Hughes

Question:

101 Mr. Hughes asked the Minister for Education when work will commence in respect of the extension to St. Peter's national school, Snugboro, Castlebar, County Mayo in view of the fact that planning permission has been granted for a two classroom extension. [7894/96]

Planning permission for the extension to St. Peter's national school, Snugboro, Castlebar, County Mayo, has not yet been finalised. I understand that Mayo County Council indicated to the school authorities on 4 April 1996, that full planning permission will be granted for the extension after the expiration of a one month period provided no appeal is lodged. When planning permission is secured, detailed drawings can be completed. The school will then be in a position to invite tenders. As some of these steps are outside the direct control of my Department, I am not in a position to state when work will commence.
