Vol. 464 No. 4

Written Answers. - Coroners Act.

Rory O'Hanlon

Question:

105 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Justice if she has satisfied herself with the operation of the Coroners Act; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [8392/96]

I am aware that certain matters in relation to the operation of the Coroners Act, 1962, are under consideration in my Department.

However, I could not undertake to indicate, at this stage, by way of reply to a parliamentary question, what specific legislative changes, if any, are required. Any proposals I might have to amend the Coroners Act, 1962 will be brought before the Government for consideration and approval before being announced in the normal way.
