Question:

125 Mr. M. Smith asked the Minister for Defence the plans, if any, he has for the Golden Jubilee of the FCA; and the recognition he intends to give to its members for their service. [8368/96]

A list of events has been drawn up by the military authorities to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the formation of the FCA in 1996 and are as follows: (a) the holding of regional parades to include the presentation of service medals and religious services; (b), the printing of a special commemorative edition of "An Cosantor"; (c) the holding of an all Army FCA shooting competition on 25-26 May at the Curragh; (d) the holding of archival, photographic and equipment displays also on 25-26 May at the Curragh; (e) the issue of an FCA commemorative Call Card by Telecom Éireann in May.
