Vol. 464 No. 4

Written Answers. - Harbour Works.

Trevor Sargent

Question:

35 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for the Marine the consideration, if any, he has given to the invitation from the Skerries and Balbriggan Fishermens' Association, County Dublin, to visit these two harbours to inspect the remedial work being carried out and co-financed by his Department and Dublin Port and Docks Board prior to these facilities being transferred to Fingal County Council. [8251/96]

Since my appointment as Minister for the Marine, I have undertaken a programme of visiting fishery harbours around the coast and hope to visit Skerries and Balbriggan in the near future, possibly on completion of the works referred to and certainly in advance of any transfer of responsibility for the harbours.
