Vol. 464 No. 6

Written Answers. - Canal Bank Landscaping.

Pat Upton

Question:

108 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht if he will have arrangements made to landscape the canal bank alongside allotments at Sally's Bridge in the area between Sally's Bridge and Harold's Cross Bridge on Parnell Road, Dublin 6. [8636/96]

I assume that the Deputy's question refers to the stretch of canal bank between Parnell Bridge and Robert Emmet Bridge on the north side of the canal. It should be noted that part of this canal bank is held in private ownership. However, the area fronting the old Griffith Barracks is canal property and The Waterways Service propose to carry out some appropriate planting on this stretch of canal bank during the coming planting season.
