Vol. 465 No. 1

Written Answers. - Carndonagh (Donegal) Sewerage Scheme.

Cecilia Keaveney

Question:

130 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the town of Carndonagh, County Donegal, doubles in population on a daily basis due to its community school which has an attendance figure of approximately 500 students; and if he will make a statement on the current situation in respect of the Carndonagh sewerage scheme, taking account of the location of the community school in the town. [9343/96]

Donegal County Council has recently submitted an additional report on the design capacity of this scheme, taking account of the demand arising from the community school. However, having regard to the existing level of commitments under the water and sewerage programme, I cannot say when it may be possible to advance the scheme.
