Vol. 465 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payment.

Gerard C. Connolly

Question:

190 Mr. Connolly asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will have arrangements made to have a REP scheme grant of £2,000 paid to a person (details supplied) in County Offaly. [9041/96]

The person concerned applied for his second year payment under the REP scheme. However, under revised monitoring and control procedures implemented by my Department recently, compliance checks are required to ensure that farmers have completed the specific works outlined during the first year of the plan before second year payments can be made. This will lead to some delays but I am seeking to ensure that these are minimised.
