Question:

141 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for the Marine if he will give a breakdown of the composition of the Foyle Fisheries Commission; and the level of representation from County Donegal. [9368/96]

The Foyle Fisheries Commission consists of four members, two each appointed by the Minister for the Marine and the Department of Agriculture for Northern Ireland. The current commissioners are: Mr. Niall McCutcheon, Department of the Marine, Dublin; Mr. Brendan Hogan, Department of the Marine, Dublin; Mr. Jack Allister, Department of Agriculture, Belfast; Mr. David Houston, Department of Agriculture Belfast.

The Foyle Area Advisory Council is the principal vehicle for representation of local interests. The existing council has 34 members, nine of whom live in County Donegal.
