Question:

187 Mr. O'Dea asked the Minister for Justice the number of gardaí since 1990 who have been convicted of driving a mechanically propelled vehicle without insurance or any exemption contrary to section 56 of the Road Traffic Acts, 1961 to 1995 and who have been allowed to remain in the force; the number who have been convicted of drunken driving since 1990 contrary to section 49 of the Road Traffic Acts, 1961 to 1995, and who have been allowed to continue serving in the force; and the number of gardaí who have been convicted of dangerous driving since 1990 contrary to section 53 the Road Traffic Acts, 1961 to 1995, and who were allowed to continue in the force.
