Vol. 465 No. 4

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting List.

Mary O'Rourke

Question:

104 Mrs. O'Rourke asked the Minister for Health if he will have arrangements made to have the case of a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath reviewed in view of the fact that she needs a critical operation. [9909/96]

Limerick East): In all cases, appointments for medical treatment are allocated on the basis of medical priority. I am advised that the person concerned has been placed on a priority waiting list, but that the hospital is not in a position, at this time, to give an exact date of admission.

If the person feels that her condition has deteriorated since she was last reviewed or warrants more urgent attention then she should contact her general practitioner who would be in the best position to take up the matter with the consultant concerned.
