Vol. 465 No. 4

Written Answers. - Drug Related Offences.

Brendan Kenneally

Question:

61 Mr. Kenneally asked the Minister for Justice whether she intends to introduce an offence of drug-dealing for substantial monetary gain with a minimum sentence of imprisonment. [9747/96]

The Deputy will be aware that the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Bill is at present before the Select Committee on Legislation and Security and that his colleague, Deputy O'Donoghue, has put down an amendment along the lines of the question. I will, of course, respond to this matter fully when the amendment is being debated.
