Vol. 465 No. 5

Written Answers. - Tax Allowance.

Tony Gregory

Question:

34 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Finance the reason the single parent's tax free allowance of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 15 was withdrawn; and when it will be re-instated. [9986/96]

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that certain conditions must be satisfied to qualify for the one parent family allowance. The allowance was withdrawn because the taxpayer did not satisfy these conditions. However, it has been established that the taxpayer now meets the conditions and the allowance has been restored.
