Vol. 465 No. 5

Written Answers. - Farmers Retirement Scheme.

Noel Ahern

Question:

76 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if a Dublin pig farmer who was 40 years in the business operating from city locations and has recently been forced out of business by the local authority would qualify for the EU farmers retirement scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10028/96]

I am forwarding the Deputy a copy of the conditions of the Scheme of Early Retirement from Farming. One of the conditions requires a person to have been farming at least five hectares of land.
