Vol. 465 No. 7

Adjournment Debate Matters (Resumed).

I do not know if I completed listing the items appertaining to the Adjournment debate. Suffice to say that the matters raised by the following Deputies have been selected for discussion: Deputy Andrews—the serious miscarriage of justice in the case of a person (details supplied) who was convicted of a crime in Britain which he did not commit; Deputy Batt O'Keeffe—the danger to staff in University Hospital, Cork, from radiation in the cancer treatment unit and the action proposed in this regard; Deputy Leonard—the need for grant assistance to provide water and sewerage facilities in dwellings which do not have such facilities at present and Deputy Martin—the need to ensure that students of the National College of Art and Design can remain in the current premises at Leinster Lane, Dublin 2, until the extension to the main campus at Thomas Street, Dublin 8, has been completed.

We now proceed to item No. 36, motion re. Health Insurance Regulations, 1996.

Will the Taoiseach explain whether the Attorney General instructed the legal counsel representing the State——

Deputy Woods, listen please. If Members persist in deliberately obstructing the Chair in the discharge of his duties to this House, then I will leave the House. I am not prepared to continue with this obstruction, disdain and disrespect from anyone. I propose to adjourn the House until 7 p.m.

Sitting suspended at 5.10 p.m. and resumed at 7 p.m.
