65 Miss Harney asked the Minister for the Environment the discussions, if any, he has had with the Federation of Irish Societies regarding the representation of emigrants in Seanad Éireann; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10509/96]
The Federation of Irish Societies has forwarded observations to me on the consultation paper entitled Representation of Emigrants in Seanad Éireann, which I published in March. I have not discussed the issue with the federation, but I will take its observations into account when framing final proposals for consideration by the Government.
