Vol. 465 No. 8

Written Answers. - TB Reactor Cattle.

Máirín Quill

Question:

26 Miss Quill asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the number of TB reactor cattle remaining in herds; the current maximum period from testing to removal of such reactors arising from the staff dispute within his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10605/96]

It is estimated that a backlog of some 2,500 reactors had built up, awaiting collection by the national reactor collection service, due to the CPSU dispute. The bulk of these will be removed this week and the remainder will be removed as quickly as practicable.
