Question:169 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Justice when she intends to publish the report on the Monaghan and Dublin bombings in May 1974; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [10814/96]

I would refer the Deputy to the comprehensive public statement which I issued on 17 May 1995 on the outcome of the Garda review of the investigation into the 1974 Dublin and Monaghan bombings. Paragraph 11 of my statement, which is available in the Dáil Library, sets out the conclusions of the Garda review. It is not proposed to publish the Garda report on the review for the reasons set out in my predecessor's reply to Question No. 102 on 19 April 1994.
As I indicated in reply to Questions Nos. 58 and 133 on 15 May 1996, the Garda file on the 1974 Dublin and Monaghan bombings will continue to remain open and any new leads will be actively pursued.
