Written Answers. - Ministerial Office Staff Costs.
The total costs of salaries and other associated costs in respect of my ministerial office staff, including constituency office staff, and the research unit in 1996 are estimated as £428,550. This is broken down as in the table below.
Ministerial Office
14 established Civil Service staff — £243,400,
Three unestablished Civil Service staff — £91,900.
Research Unit Five unestablished Civil Service staff — £93,250.
For the purposes of the reply to the Deputy, associated costs are taken to include employers' PRSI contributions, superannuation costs, allowances and overtime.
