Vol. 466 No. 3

Written Answers. - Mitchelstown (Cork) Sewerage Scheme.

Ned O'Keeffe

Question:

68 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for the Environment if he will approve an extension to a sewerage scheme for five houses (details supplied) in County Cork; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that Cork County Council is prepared to pay 50 per cent of the approved cost; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11320/96]

It was considered that this extension would not be an essential element of the scheme and, given the limitations on the level of available capital funding, Cork County Council was, therefore, informed that it is not possible to approve the extension. Since then, the council has submitted revised proposals for financing the extension and these are being examined in my Department.
