Vol. 466 No. 3

Written Answers. - Road Projects Grant.

Declan Bree

Question:

70 Mr. Bree asked the Minister for the Environment when his Department informed Sligo Corporation that it had been allocated a sum of £120,000 in respect of its 1995 non-national roads block grant; the date on which Sligo Corporation drew down the moneys from his Department; the date on which the Corporation indicated that the moneys had been expended; if Sligo Corporation indicated the projects on which the grant aid had been expended; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11349/96]

Sligo Corporation was notified of its 1995 discretionary grant allocation of £120,000 on 7 March 1995. This sum was paid by my Department to the local authority on 27 July 1995 on foot of a claim dated 10 July 1995 submitted by the Corporation indicating that the moneys has been expended. As this grant is a discretionary one, subject only to general guidelines issued by my Department, no information is available to me regarding the specific road projects which were funded from the grant.
