Vol. 466 No. 6

Written Answers. - Extension of Special Trade Areas.

Michael P. Kitt

Question:

131 Mr. M. Kitt asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade the plans, if any, the Government has to provide special trade areas with other countries in the west of Ireland similar to proposals for trade areas in Border counties. [12144/96]

I refer the Deputy to the record of the Adjournment Debate of 1 May 1996 in which I set out the position on this question. As the Government has no plans to provide special trade areas with other countries in the Border counties, the question of extending them to the west of Ireland does not arise.
